Dear Gustav,

Thanks for the link to my Lost Tribes post. And thanks, too, for listing me on your blog roll. It's a pleasure to meet historians of science outside of my sheltered world of Connecticut. I noticed that you are interested in a variety of subjects related to exploration (eg., cold war science, astronomy, and media studies). If you know of news, events, etc related to exploration that you think I should be talking about (or announcing), please let me know.

It's unfortunate that British and American expeditions have received so much attention at the expense of Scandinavian projects - especially since the latter tended to be so innovative in terms of technology, techniques, and commitment to science. (I am guilty of this sin as well, though I wrote a bit about Nansen in my book).

In any event, nice to meet you!
